The holidays are a time for joy, connection, reflection, and… holiday stress and anxiety. As we now enter the “run faster!” timeframe of holidays (there’s about 13 holidays between Dec 1 and Jan 3), stress and anxiety is ramping up! From planning gatherings to managing expectations, the season can feel is overwhelming. What truly matters is the magic of togetherness, the laughter you share, and the memories you create with loved ones…
FINE! You want to get through it as unscathed as possible. We can understand that mindset!
Here’s the starter guide to reduce stress and try to enjoy (or at least survive) the holiday season:
- Embrace the Present Moment
Whether it’s opening gifts, sharing a meal, or huddled in a secret room with family gossiping, take time to savor each moment. Practicing mindfulness can help reduce holiday anxiety, relish in the juicy family drama, and make your celebrations feel more meaningful. - Let Go of Perfection
Not everything has to look like a Hallmark movie—and that’s okay! Focus on connection over perfection, and remember that it is the imperfect moments that are often the most memorable. There is no such thing as “perfect”, so stop trying to achieve it. - Find Time to Recharge
The season can be overwhelming, let’s be real. Take a breather when you need it—whether it’s a peaceful walk or hiding in the bathroom for a few minutes of peace and quiet. Self-care is essential for maintaining your mental health.
As you sprint towards the new year, know that we’re cheering for you and wishing you a holiday season filled with love, laughter, and most importantly— some fun.
